The Sandfontein Lodge & nature and Game Reserve stretches out over 80,000 hectares of arguably the most spectacular scenery the planet has to offer and includes 25 km of Orange River frontage. sandfontein is the third biggest Private Nature reserve in Namibia, even bigger than Singapore. In the heart of the Nature and Game Reserve, lies Sandfontein’s lodge. With only four bungalows and one suite, Sandfontein can really offre guests exclusivity, serenity and seclusion.

Sandfontein lies in the south of Namibia on the Orange River, west of the town of Onseepkans and east of the town of Noordoewer. Sandfontein has its own airfield, and many clients arrive by chartered light aircraft (a commonly used mode of transport to get to and from lodges in Namibia).Naturally Sandfontein can also be reached by car and lies approximately 4 hours by car from Upington in South Africa, approximately 2 hours by car from Noordoewer in Namibia and approximately 1 hour by car from Warmbad in Namibia.

Getting there

from Noordoewer,drive about 50 km on the B1, turn right on the D213,at a t-junction, turn right onto the D 208.(*)
From Karasburg, go in the direction of Warmbad. After about 8 km turn right onto the D208(*). * Stay on the D208 until you turn left to “Gaidip” onto the D292. After 10 km you have a large quiver tree on your left, and a few metres further you’ll see a small sign "Sandfontein". Turn left it’ll be another 40 min to the lodge

Sandfontein boasts 4 private spacious thatched bungalows with a wall of windows to the front, maximizing the awesome semi-desert mountainous landscapes. Each air-conditioned bungalow is furnished to compliment the majestic hues of the surrounding environment, boasting a private verandah, twin beds, and en-suite bathroom with shower and twin sinks. We can sleep one child per unit per prior arrangement.Our suite has an extra guest sitting area, en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower, twin sinks, and an oval shaped bath surrounded by glass walls where you can relax and take in the dramatic landscape.

Activities

Drive or fly to Sandfontein and have an amazing experience. Enjoy a scenic drive, admiring the scenery and learning about the wildlife. Spend a day adrift in your canoe, marvelling at the Orange River. Track some of Namibia's endangered animals such as black rhinos, cheetahs or leopards. Go on a day trip to see the world second largest canyon. Go out for a walk in the mountains. Have dinner around a campfire in a random riverbed, on a mountain,... with our team on hand to ensure you don’t lift a finger. Or, simply stay in our 10 person super-luxury lodge and laze around the 20 metre swimming pool, taking in the dramatic landscape, the soothin
