The Zanzibar Archipelago consists of several islands lying off the coast of East Africa in the Indian Ocean. There are two main islands, Zanzibar Island and Pemba Island plus a host of smaller islets which surround them. Mafia Island ("Chole Shamba") is the third largest island lying further south and has several exclusive lodges.
